#Watch light in slow motion: Its 1 trillion fps

Interesting read. Now its 1 trillion frames per second. So fast that you can see a light pulse in slow motion. And yes, we have a video! Scientists at MIT's MediaLab developed this video technique which is fast enough to show a light pulse move across a room.Nothing moves faster than light, so the ability to reduce its progress to a slow-motion video is  miraculous. The team recorded a light pulse’s progress through the length of a Coke bottle.
The camera uses a piece of equipment known as a streak camera, which is basically a slit that lets light pass through. The camera then uses a rapidly changing electrical field to deflect the light, measuring not just the photons coming through the slit, but also when they arrived. The result is a plot of light coming through that slit over time.
It is interesting to know that a shutter speed of about 1/8000th is the fastest in available cameras. Cannons new baby EOS 1D-X pro digital SLR camera
So whats the use?
Light can be used in place of ultrasonic. its cool if you get a pic of an unborn baby. It could also be used in advanced flash adjustments. Check out the ultimate slow motion video.
