The individual is requested to click on a web link in the mail that will take them to an “account reconfirmation” website. Here the individual is requested for their mail, password, a Facebook Protection question and answer, and the first six numbers of their card, along with the type of card.
False graphics from “Facebook Security” and “Facebook Safety” accompany the web link. Facebook Protection demonstrates a shield, and Face book Safety demonstrates silhouettes of four individuals inside a circle. Once the individual has completed the first kind, they are taken to a second fake kind that demands login information. The next screen demands the individual's username and again, the first six digits of their card number. The website states that if an individual “ignores this warning, then our stability system will block your consideration automatically.”

I have read that police in some country have given a caution. That shows the gravity of the situation.
You must be knowing about this Wall Scam which is very frequent in FB. You will see a post by your friend saying something like. 'omg i dont believe this' 'Nobody can watch this video for more than 15 secs' .. the moment you click this post, this post will go to all your friends wall by your name.
Few things to be kept in mind:
- Whenever you are directed to any page which requires you to fill in your details, check the url. In this case the page looks like your FB login page but the url is different. This is done to trap the users. Those who dont check the url end up giving their username and password.
- FB will never ask for your credit card details. This is obvious. It will loose users if it start doing this.
- You will never get any attachments with mails from FB and twitter. If you find one, dont download unless and until you are sure. It could be a malware.
- Recheck your account immediately and make all necessary changes in your Account settings.
